Sr. Process Metallurgist

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to solve various metallurgical problems related to CIGS solar cell production.  Many of these will be related to the quality and composition of materials sourced from vendors, especially metallic PVD targets and ferritic stainless steel foil.  Work with target and substrate vendors to understand their manufacturing processes (including thermal spray, pressing, sintering, extruding, CIP, HIP, casting, spray forming, rolling, forging, electroplating) and evaluate the potential of the manufactured products for use in a high volume solar cell manufacturing process.  Define appropriate specifications and procedures for sourced metallurgical materials.  Develop parts with complex alloy compositions in high volume manufacturing, including developing a process and defining hardware functional requirements.  Work with other groups to optimize properties and behavior of thin film metallurgical systems.  Properties to be optimized may include mechanical properties (stress/strain, diffusion rates, thermal conductivity, thermal expansion behavior), electrical properties (conductivity, surface potential), and chemical properties.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • M.S. required, Ph.D. preferred

Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual plan and detailed monthly headcounts, opex and capex forecasts for all cost centers based on input from all VP’s

Equipment Maintenance Technician

Quality Control Receiving Inspector

Position Responsibilities:

The inspector performs audits and inspections and/or audits of in the various quality programs. This includes the following:

  • Packaging line and manufacturing inspections

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assemble photovoltaic modules, subassemblies and test samples in support of process engineering and product development

  • Measure performance and electrical characteristics of photovoltaic cells and modules using multimeters and solar simulators / I-V test hardware

Equipment Engineer

Position Responsibilities:

Tool owner for a standalone vacuum chamber test module. Responsibilities will include bringing this module online, including significant hardware installation and working with other departments to facilitize properly. Perform various experiments on module, analyze and organize test data. Maintain the test module including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing parts. Support product development engineers by working on any of the following:

  • validating and/or maintaining manufacturing/measurement equipment
  • managing small projects from conception to completion
  • working with engineers to design test fixtures, then sourcing the parts, building troubleshooting, and operating the fixture

Job Summary

  • The Electrical Engineer position involves designing automated manufacturing systems for Photovoltaic panels.  Responsible for designing electrical systems as well as control systems and selecting and integrating components and subsystems including: servo controllers, logic controllers, I/O, power distribution, sensors, safety devices, communication devices, and cables.
